The Delegation of the European Union to Liberia has officially opened applications for its fully funded traineeship program!

This highly competitive opportunity allows young professionals to discover how the European Union promotes its strategic interests, values, and partnerships directly within Liberia.

  What the Traineeship Offers

• Financial Support: A monthly grant is provided to the selected trainee to cover living expenses.
• Diplomatic Exposure: Practical experience working directly inside the Political, Press, and Information Section.
• Professional Growth: Deep exposure to international cooperation, regional geopolitics, and EU-Liberia relations, alongside world-class networking opportunities.
• Duration: Up to six (6) months, with a tentative start date in October 2026.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
The selected trainee will dive into daily diplomatic operations, covering:

• Media Monitoring: Monitoring Liberian print, broadcast, and online media to compile the daily press review and identify key trends affecting EU interests.
• Political Reporting: Conducting in-depth research on specific legislative developments, human rights, and security sector reforms to contribute to political briefings.
• Public Diplomacy: Supporting the Press and Information Section by drafting press releases and creating engaging content for official social media platforms (X and Facebook).
• Event Management: Providing logistical and content support for high-level diplomatic events and press conferences.
• Reporting & Representation: Attending meetings at line ministries, civil society organizations, or with local and international partners, and preparing high-quality minutes and summaries.

Eligibility & Requirements
To be considered for this elite role, applicants must meet the following strict criteria:

• Nationality & Residency: Open only to Liberian nationals currently residing in Liberia.
• Education: Must be a recent university graduate holding a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience Limit: Candidates must have less than one year of professional work experience after their graduation date by the time the traineeship agreement is signed. (Note: Student jobs, volunteering, or prior internships completed during or after university do not count as professional experience).
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of both written and spoken English is essential. You must have a proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise text.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in social media management and basic graphic design is highly desirable.
• Core Traits: High level of adaptability to a multicultural environment, strong research capabilities, an interest in West African geopolitical dynamics, and the stamina to meet tight deadlines.

Note: All costs related to travel, insurance, and local accommodation must be borne entirely by the trainee using their monthly stipend.
