Your life-changing gateway is officially open! SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes A Nation) has launched its global call for applications for the upcoming cohort.

SHE-CAN is an elite U.S.-based leadership organization that identifies high-potential young women leaders who come from low-income households and empowers them to secure 100% full-ride scholarships to top-tier American colleges and universities. Beyond securing funding, SHE-CAN provides comprehensive college preparation classes, dedicated teams of American mentors, cross-cultural leadership training, and career guidance to ensure scholars return home equipped to become powerhouse changemakers.

Candidates must be academically strong, consistently ranking high in their class with superior report cards and strong scores on national examinations (WAEC / WASSCE).
  • University Standing: Must have less than one (1) year of university or post-secondary credits. Please note: SHE-CAN exclusively supports undergraduate Bachelor's degrees; graduate/Master's applicants are ineligible.
  • Socioeconomic Status: Must come from a verified low-income household and possess an estimate of the family's monthly income.

Required Application Package Checklist
There is zero application fee to apply. Candidates must have the following documents scanned and ready to upload directly into the application form:
  • Clear PDF copies of Grade 10, 11, and 12 high school transcripts (If you have not graduated yet, upload your most current high school grades).
  • A PDF copy of your National Exam Score Report (WAEC/WASSCE). (If your latest scores are not yet released, you must upload a written statement describing precisely when you will receive them).
  • Any existing score reports for the SAT, ACT, IELTS, or TOEFL (if previously taken).
  • An official estimate of your family's monthly household income.
How to Apply & Form Guidelines
Because the online application system does not allow you to save your progress and finish later, SHE-CAN strongly recommends typing out your essay answers in a separate Google Doc or Microsoft Word file first, checking your character counts, and then copying and pasting them into the live system.
