- Job Title: Early Childhood Teacher (ECD - Nursery & Kindergarten)

The Nursery & Kindergarten Teacher will be responsible for creating a strong academic foundation for young learners while fostering a love for learning in a warm, structured, and nurturing environment. This critical foundational role ensures that young students develop essential skills across early literacy, basic numeracy, sensory science, and social developmentāpreparing them to progress into elementary school with confidence.
The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of early childhood development milestones and utilize engaging, hands-on, and play-based teaching methodologies that spark creativity, curiosity, and independent thinking.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Curriculum Implementation
- Foundational Skill Building: Implement an age-appropriate curriculum designed to build capabilities in English language fluency (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and early public speaking confidence.
- Core Disciplines: Introduce foundational numeracy concepts and early science/exploration modules through highly interactive learning experiences.
- Creative Pedagogy: Use phonics, interactive storytelling, educational songs, play-based learning, and hands-on activities to cater to diverse early learning styles.
- Socialization: Actively teach and model core social skills, including kindness, teamwork, sharing, and respect for others.
- Environment Care: Maintain a safe, warm, orderly, and meticulously clean classroom space where children feel valued and eager to learn.
- Individual Support: Observe, assess, and document individual milestones, providing personalized support to help children develop at their own unique pace.
- Routine & Discipline: Establish predictable classroom routines and utilize positive behavior reinforcement techniques to teach good habits.
- Hygiene & Responsibility: Teach and reinforce foundational self-care habits, including cleanliness, neatness, personal organization, and responsibility for classroom materials.
- Open Dialogue: Maintain open communication channels with families, offering regular updates on student progress, behavioral strengths, and developmental growth.
- Community Events: Organize and participate in formal parent-teacher conferences, school exhibitions, and educational workshops.
- Home Reinforcement: Offer guidance and practical suggestions to parents on how to effectively reinforce classroom learning at home.
- Education: Degree or formal specialization in Early Childhood Education (ECD), Primary Education, or a closely related pedagogical field.
- Licensure: A valid national teaching certification or license is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of proven, verifiable experience working directly as a Kindergarten or Nursery school teacher in a structured setting.
- Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in using modern educational technology tools for instruction.
Verbal Modeling: Exceptional communication and public speaking skills to model clear, grammatically correct verbal expression for developing language learners.
Soft Skills: Immense patience, emotional warmth, high energy, and genuine enthusiasm for working around toddlers and young children.
Collaboration: Excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills to work seamlessly alongside parents, fellow educators, and administrators. Ā CRITICAL APPLICATION NOTES FROM THE SCHOOL:
